SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid for Adults
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid training is similar to CPR\, giving you the tools to respond to emergencies. This course will teach you how to recognize a mental health crisis and respond. \nMental Health First Aid training empowers you with greater mental health literacy and empathy when you see others in need of help. It does not teach you to diagnose or treat mental health issues\, but rather to address a crisis and connect people to resources. \nAttendees learn: \n\nsigns\, symptoms\, and risk factors of mental health or substance use conditions\nwords and actions to respond\nhow to connect people with care or local resources\n\nThe training prepares everyday people to respond and help those around you\, whether they are strangers\, friends or family. This course focuses on adult populations. \nRegistration is free and is available to individuals ages 18 and up. The course will be held at 1922 The Alameda\, San Jose\, CA\, 95126 on Thursday November 20th from 2:00–7:00 PM. This training includes two hours of online learning. \nRegistration is required.
